The first personal style blogger in Romania, Ana Morodan is a character that cannot go unnoticed, a savory, explosive and fearless character, whom you either love or gossip about, but always with pathos. I spoke with Ana and discovered, beyond the image of the Digital Countess, carefully built during the 6 years of hard work, an extremely honest and genuine person. Read about her beginnings in the blogosphere, the joys and challenges of life as a Digital Countess and, of course, sequins, gin and tonics, lots of red and coffee in the pages of the paper.
1. How did the www.anamorodan.com story begin? What was your professional path?
It started in the spring of 2009 with lilac, peonies, blue situation and the same heart... I was sitting crooked to think straight, looking for a solution for my future (the lawyer one didn't sound glamorous at all and it didn't go with sequins, gin and tonic and passion for lath). I was thinking it would be a domain at first and be something all about me, with vanity, glitter and chick-lit stories. Noah, and so came the epiphany: I'm taking up personal style blogging! That's the story in a nutshell.
2. What is Ana Morodan like as a person? How would you describe yourself?
Countess Morodan is a savory, explosive and fearless character, whom you either love or gossip about, but always with pathos. She is impeccably awkward, demented, sincere, extravagant, funny, emotional and generous. And modest!
3. What are the pros and cons of living as a Digital Countess?
I think the biggest advantage is the fact that I have created a super-community of people around me, what in our professional language is called "friends, followers & fans", who recognize themselves in my stories, I feel that I am helpful to them , which resonates with my struggles, my way of seeing the world, and with whom I have an extremely pleasant and comforting interaction.
On the other hand, when you are active online there are no breaks. I can't afford to put the bolt on the Countess and say: "Piua!" I'm always connected.
4. What are the principles and values that guide you? How do you manage to stay authentic and true to your values, in a world that can sometimes be superficial or even harsh?
"Better crazy than perfect."
It's not hard for me to live by this mantra, because noah, do you think I'm normal or perfect?
5 . What is your favorite place on this Earth?
The hill to the left of the Valea Verde Retreat estate.
6. What is your ultimate treat at the end of a crazy day? How do you relax and disconnect?
A few hours at the spa, with the phone turned off. And a glass of gin. Full.
7. Choose 3 favorite outfits and associate them with moods, places, feelings.
Beige cone dress, accessorized with huge earrings and an enormous brooch, both Art Deco. It's my outfit when I first stepped into adult life. A long time ago, maybe too soon.
Red cone skirt, red fishnet tights and flared jacket, guess what? Red too. The look I wore the day I decided to open Morodan Shop.
White gown in Chantilly lace on the bodice, accessorized with a gold necklace and lily crown. The day my friend opened her first "nature oriented" kindergarten in Bucharest.
8. Tell us about a happy/funny/memorable experience in your career.
Today, right at your place in Cluj. I took pictures of two geese. Excuse me, three with everything with me, in a location from the Belle Epoque period, unique in Romania.
9. How do you like to drink your coffee? Describes the ideal setting for enjoying this wonderful liqueur.
Double espresso with a dash of rum. Ok, more sprinkles.
On the terrace of my apartment, at the MOffice (Morodan office) with my colleagues and on the terrace of a mansion, on a rainy autumn day.
10. I read in one of your interviews that you want to get to "Morodan Corporation". How close do you feel you are to this goal? What are the components of the Ana Morodan brand currently and what other projects are you preparing in the near future?
Hahaha, we are already a small corporation. Now I plan to take over the world. Currently, the Morodan office (aka #MOffice) means 9 teammates, 7 collaborators, a headquarters, an online store, my website and our newest project, which I am very proud of, GIN – Get Influence Now – Morodan Digital Influencers Academy.
