A 2-day course covering the main Barista Skills, intermediate level – extraction theory, professional coffee tasting and brewing recipes. You will also learn about improving the workflow in the bar and whipping up the milk cream.

The Barista Skills Intermediate course is a significant progression from the Beginner (Foundation) level and is intended to bring participants to the experienced Specialty Barista stage.

In the course, we closely study the taste and aroma of coffee, as well as how they can be manipulated by different preparation recipes (coffee dosage, extraction time, water temperature). By using a digital refractometer, you'll see how different brewing recipes can optimize any coffee – a huge competitive advantage for any cafe or barista.


We'll also pay attention to your workflow, making sure you're working to maximize coffee quality, consistency and speed. If you want to work as a Specialty Barista, this course is the starting point, which will accelerate the process of accumulating the necessary knowledge.


Participate in the course and learn about:

  • coffee roasting, basics
  • coffee solubility
  • espresso machine and grinder operation
  • workstation organization and work efficiency
  • espresso and espresso-based drinks with milk


A general understanding of espresso technique is required to attend this course – ideally SCA Barista Skills Foundation graduate or minimum 3 months experience.

Barista Skills Intermediate is a 2-day course, held between 10:00 and 16:00, including lunch break.
