My trip to Ethiopia was no coincidence. I chose this country because it is where coffee was discovered and the land where the greatest runners are born. For Ethiopians, running is not just a sport; it is a form of prayer. And, in a way, I have felt that too.
My path was clear: to bring home a coffee for those like me, who believe that running connects us more than any finish line. The ritual of drinking coffee in the “motherland” gave me the same energy I feel every morning when I go for a run — only this time, I was in the place where true runners are born.
I realized that we don’t run for a time or a performance, but for the connection between us. For the simple act of sharing coffee and steps with those who share the same passion.
When I returned to Romania, I didn’t bring just a coffee. I brought an idea: running and coffee are part of the same joy — the joy of feeling alive and connected with others.
