The Ijen Farm, located in East Java, is situated in Bondowoso, Sukasari village, Indonesia. Spanning 68 hectares, the farm lies at an altitude between 1,200 and 1,750 meters.
The farm is owned and managed by Pak Andi, a passionate farmer who has been cultivating coffee since childhood, learning the craft from his parents. In the past, the region was dominated by robusta plantations, but as arabica gained popularity, Pak Andi decided in 2000 to specialize in growing arabica.
Pak Andi and other local farmers have received training in sustainable cultivation practices and selective cherry picking. No pesticides are used, and farm maintenance includes manual pruning of coffee trees and weed removal. Fertilization is done solely with organic fertilizers, and the crops are protected by shade trees, including native forest species.
